GFP Frequently Asked Questions

The Global Fellowship Program (GFP) aims to nurture prospective leaders with ability to think creatively and critically with empathy for diverse human existence.

The program is open to all individuals with

  • A recognized graduate or post-graduate degree in any discipline
  • Minimum of 20 years of age on 30th June 2019
  • Strong academic record
  • Active extra-curricular engagement
  • Strong communication skills
This is a multi-disciplinary fully residential two year post-graduate degree program with a provision of availing a diploma after completion of one year.
After completing their diploma, fellows can pursue Master’s in Liberal Arts or in other areas depending on the Electives chosen by them during the first year either at Chandigarh University or at an international partner university.
No, not necessarily, but in case you do have work experience it will be an added advantage.
Graduates/Post Graduates from any discipline can apply to this program.
Yes, the medium of instruction at the GFP will be English.
There is only minimum age requirement of 20 years as on 30th June, 2019. We have no maximum age requirement.
Yes, Global Fellows have the option to leave after completing one year and avail the post-graduate diploma in Liberal Arts and Humanities.
Yes. On joining the GFP, you will be assigned a mentor under the Mentorship Program.
Yes, Global Fellows would be required to write an extensive research thesis during their 2nd year. After completing the master’s Program, they have the option to pursue PhD.
Global Fellowship Program is a fully residential program and its tuition fee covers fellows' boarding-lodging and expenses for any special event/ trip (domestic) that may be planned during their term with us. For more details, the information listed under "Eligibility" tab on this website can be referred to.
GFP has a provision for Partial Scholarship, only; the percentage of the scholarship awarded shall be decided by the GFP Selection Committee. And this decision shall be completely dependent on the applicant’s academic/ professional expertise and his SOP (Statement of Purpose) submitted to us.
There is a provision of offering full or partial support to deserving and promising students after meeting the sponsors’ conditions and requirements.
The class of GFP will have 120 Fellows.
Depending on project and dissertation work, fellows might need to travel.
Candidates who meet our mentioned age and qualification criteria will be required to fill an application provided on our official website. Their entries in various sections of the application, inclusive of a Statement of Purpose (SOP) and two references shall be used for the initial screening process.
Yes, you will get a notification that your application has been submitted. However, please note that the status of your application will be communicated to you via email. We will be following a rolling admissions process, so the earlier you apply, the earlier your application will be reviewed.
No, recommendation letters are not required. However, if you have corporate/website/Institute sponsoring you, the same will be given some consideration. Similarly letters signed by your Principal/employer, will get some consideration.
This Program has been designed to help Global Fellows to build soft skills and transferable skills. In this program, soft skills mean communication ability, social graces, and personal habits (dependability, conscientiousness). The transferable skills could include learning to analyze and evaluate; thinking creatively and critically; strategizing and problem solving; ability to synthesize new ideas; effective research skills; organization and time management skills.
Yes, job placement opportunities will be notified.
Yes; it is a fully residential program.
